This point has been recently highlighted by some significant fines being levied on HMO and care home owners who had failed to take reasonable steps to manage fire risk and put in place reasonable provisions to enable persons to escape. Given the number of such premises around the Margate and Ramsgate areas this activity by the fire authorities is certainly something that is going to have an impact.
