First aid at work requalification

This H.S.E. approved course is run over 2 days

This two day requalification course is designed to refresh the knowledge and skills of existing workplace first aiders and cover any changes to first aid procedures.

Each delegate will receive a first aid handbook to work from which can be kept for future reference.

The topics that are covered in this course are:

  • Responsibilities of the First Aider
  • Action in an emergency
  • Casualty assessment
  • Management of the unconscious casualty
  • Resuscitation
  • Breathing disorders
  • Disorders of circulation
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Poisoning
  • Disorders of consciousness
  • Bone, joint and muscle injuries

A current First Aid at Work certificate must be shown to the instructor on the first day of training to ensure eligibility and the course completed within 28 days of the certificate expiry date. This course may be attended, however, up to three months before the certificate expiry date. Subject to completion of the course and final assessment, delegates will receive a nationally recognised H.S.E. approved First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for three years and will be able to respond to an accident or illness in the workplace safely and effectively.
