We offer both the SSSTS and SMSTS courses as online courses via the Zoom video conferencing app. Applicants will receive video training from a qualified instructor, cover the same topics as the classroom course and receive the same certificate.

About the CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme

We deliver the following two courses specifically for site supervisors: the Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) and the Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme Refresher course (SSSTS-R).

Our SSSTS courses are Build UK approved as the required training for all supervisors who work on Build UK sites. The SSSTS course seeks to deliver an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues in the building, construction & civil engineering industries. The SSSTS course also focuses on legal responsibilities, and how to meet these by implementing health and safety measures.

Candidates who complete our SSSTS course will be equipped to carry out risk assessments in the workplace, implement required control measures to limit risks, and create a positive health & safety culture through good communication with the rest of their workforce.

Who is the SSSTS online course for?

You are suited to taking part in the SSSTS course if you are a supervisor, or have supervisory responsibilities. Applicants should be competent in English at site supervisor level.

What does the SSSTS online course consist of?

At the end of the Site Supervisor Safety Training online course you will have an understanding of:

• How to use your supervisory position to maintain a safe site
• How you are responsible in implementing health and safety law
• The importance of undertaking risk assessments and producing method statements
• Adequate inductions to sites, method statement briefings, and toolbox talks
• Observing the site activities properly
• Intervening when bad practice is discovered

How long does the SSSTS course take?

The Site Supervisor Safety Training online course will be completed over a duration of 2 days total. You will have professional guidance from highly qualified and experienced instructors.
