What Is CITB?

CITB is the Council and Industry Training Board for the construction industry in England, Wales and Scotland. CITB want to promote training to those within the construction industry to help towards making their working space a safer place, as well as producing professional employees and a workforce that is fully qualified in what they do.

By having a workforce that is up to date with the latest technology and processes within the construction industry it means the work produced should be to the highest standard; in a way that is safe and long lasting too. Plus, they will be aware of the issues and processes that impact the planet, which the construction industry now needs to be considerate of.

CITB courses

We offer a range of courses designed by the CITB. All of these are aligned to help you become better qualified within your industry, making a range of opportunities available to you.

CITB courses we run include:

CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course

This training in Health and Safety awareness primarily focuses on health and safety for the civil engineering and construction industries. It is great for all members of a construction site who require knowledge of basic health and safety requirements. The course will show what potential hazards can be found on site, and teach practical advice on how to keep your colleagues and yourself safe. It will also teach the responsibilities of both your employer and you as an employee, including what to do when you think someone is being put at risk. Successful completion of this course will allow you to apply for a CSCS green labourer card.

CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training

The Site Supervisor Training from CITB Is a course designed for those who are in a supervisory role, or will be progressing into a supervisory role. The course looks at the health and safety laws surrounding the construction industry, and their responsibilities for controlling site safety. You’ll have an understanding of risk assessments and why method statements are so important, as well as how to monitor activities of a site effectively. Finally, you’ll know how to implement a timely intervention once you have identified bad practice on site.

CITB Site Manager Safety Training

This course covers all legislation that affects working safely in the construction, civil engineering and building industry. Risk assessments within the workplace will be addressed, as well as why the implementation of controlled measures and communication are imperative to maintaining a good standard of health and safety culture on site.
