Health & safety courses for the building, construction & engineering industry

  • CITB Health & Safety Awareness course

This course provides a general, basic knowledge of the fundamental foundation of this subject through one-day training.

  • IOSH Working Safely

A course suitable for everyone in all departments across the workplace, this one-day course will provide a basic understanding and knowledge of the fundamental foundations of health and safety. Pinpointing why it is crucial for everybody to act responsibly and safely when at work.

  • CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training (SSSTS)

This two-day course is great for those of you who are considering, or are already in, a supervisor role. It focuses on the legal responsibilities and the need to promote health and safety to supervise efficiently.   • CITB Site Manager Safety Training (SMSTS)

This five-day course is best for those of you who have managerial responsibilities overseeing a group of staff, i.e. site manager. It will cover all specific legislation that affects safe working in the construction, building and civil engineering industries.

It highlights the need for risk assessments within the workplace, and the application of the necessary controlled measures and suitable communication to keep an excellent health and safety culture within your workplace and team.

  • CIEH Level 2 Principles of Manual Handling

A qualification suitable for all employees at any level, giving a solid understanding of what manual handling is – delivered to you over four hours. For more information, please see our CIEH Level 2 Principles of Manual Handling page.

Health and safety courses in the food industry

  • CIEH Level 1 Food Safety

There are four different types of level one food safety courses for you to choose from; all are half a day in length and are great for new employees and for those that have a small amount of involvement with food.

  • CIEH Level 2 Food Safety

With three courses to choose from over a duration of a day, these courses are great for those requiring food hygiene training in industry. They’re designed for all those who work in catering and are handling, preparing and cooking food, and form paramount training for all food handlers.

  • CIEH Level 3 Food Safety Supervision

These courses take three days each to complete and are perfect for supervisors and managers – no matter the size of the catering, manufacturing or retail company. Especially applicable for those who have to oversee or develop HACCP based food safety management systems and procedures.

  • CIEH level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace

The perfect course for anyone and everyone in a work environment, making certain all employees understand and are aware of their safety. It is also good for anyone entering a work environment, such as contractors, members of the public and customers.

  • CIEH Level 2 Principles of Manual Handling

  • IOSH Managing Safely

Delivered over four days, this course is designed for supervisors and managers from any industry. The IOSH course can be adapted and tailored to meet the required, individual needs of organisations. For more information, please see our IOSH Managing Safely page.

  • NEBOSH Level 3 General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

This course enables those who already have health and safety responsibilities, or who are supervisors or managers, to learn to carry out their duties more efficiently at work.

First aid, fire safety and control of substances hazardous to health

  • CIEH Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

If your business is classed as a low risk environment, such as having less than one hundred employees or in an office or shop, then this is the ideal basic course for you. It will cover the nominated person to be the first aider at their place of work.   • CIEH Level 2 Award in Fire Safety Principles

For the employees that have a basic understanding of fire safety, this is a good course to progress onto to help undertake more specific fire safety roles.
