Who is the SSSTS Refresher online course for?

The SSSTS Refresher online course is ideal for anyone who has previously passed the Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) and needs to renew their certification.

Can I complete a refresher course if my certificate is out of date?

The short answer is no. To complete the SSSTS refresher course, your existing certificate must still be valid. There is no grace period once your SSSTS certificate expires.

If your current certificate has lapsed, you will not be eligible for the CITB SSSTS refresher and will instead need to retake the full two-day SSSTS course. This requirement ensures all supervisors remain fully competent with the most up-to-date safety legislation and best practice.

If your certificate is out of date, you must book and complete the full SSSTS training course again—this is now mandatory across the industry.

What if your certificate is still valid?

If your SSSTS certificate is still in date and you are approaching the end of its five-year validity period, then you are eligible to take the SSSTS refresher online. This one-day course offers a faster, more cost-effective and more convenient way to renew your qualification when compared with retaking the full course.
