Duration: 100 minutes*

The Abrasive Wheels Video e-Learning course is an interactive and fully-certified training scheme for anyone who anyone who uses abrasive wheels, or employs people who use abrasive wheels as part of their work. The course is fully certified and approved by the IIRSM and CPD, and is widely accepted as proof of competence on sites around the UK.

Abrasive wheels are one of the most commonly-used tools in construction and trade environments, and yet training is often ad-hoc or non-existent. Yet different tools can have completely different properties and characteristics, and carry different risks depending on the scenario. This makes it imperative not just to learn to use them safely, but also to use the right tool for the job.

Common applications for abrasive wheels include hand grinding and disc cutting. Abrasive wheels can be used at all stages of a work process, from making preliminary cuts and scores in materials to fine polishing and finishing. They present risks not only because of their capacity to cause injuries, but also the dust they can produce, among other factors.

The Abrasive Wheels video course teaches candidates about the anatomy of an abrasive wheel, helping them to better understand how it works and the dangers it presents. Candidates will learn how to safely handle different types of abrasive wheel, the differing applications of abrasive wheels, proper storage and much more.
