The Level 2 courses in food safety are ideal for all those requiring food hygiene training for industry. These courses are fundamental food hygiene training for all food handlers. They are designed for anyone working in catering where food is prepared, cooked and handled.

The qualifications cover the following topics:

  • Food safety and hygiene hazards
  • Temperature control
  • Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding
  • Cooking, hot holding and reheating
  • Food handling
  • Principles of safe food storage
  • Cleaning
  • Food premises and equipment

The courses will conclude with candidates undertaking a multi-choice examination, the successful completion of which will result in the awarding of a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Certificate in Food Safety Awareness in Catering.
